Simple Cake-Like Dumplings


  • 2 cups flour 
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 2 eggs 
  • 3/4 to 1 cup buttermilk. 


Sift dry ingredients together in large bowl.
In small bowl, lightly beat eggs and milk together;
Mix both bowl together.
Batter should be thick and cake-like.

Bring broth to light boil.
Using 2 spoons, carefully drop heaping TBS into broth.

Let the dumplings poach: covered, for 10 to 15 min until firm and puffy.
Season before serving.
